We would like to dedicate another
day to the ancient culture of the Lake, visiting the last creftsmen
who create the humble tools for the fishermen and the farmers. Very close to the naturalistic oasis named "la Valle di San Savino" ( its physical characteristics, flora, fauna and vegetation make this area an object of international interest) there is a family whose 5 male members build nice object made with canes, using old machines of the 19th century. In a nice and never-changing environment, these 5 guys keep alive the tradition of the cane-working, which had an important role in the building process of the farmers'houses of this zone.  Going towards S.Arcangelo, another small fishers' town, we would like you to visit an ichthyogenic centre, where the fishes for the Lake's repopulation are producted. Even this time, we will have lunch at Anna's, where we will cook the fishes caught the day before. We will receive a warm welcome from this kind girl. Then, after the cooking lesson.....ENJOY YOUR MEAL. Let's go and visit another craftman.  We will get to Mr Ernesto's. In summer, our nice friend works in an arbour covered by ivy where he will be happy to show and teach you how to make some baskets, used as fruit or wood cases. In winter he works in his house, surrounded by canes' faggots, creating several object using his fantasy and the ancient tradition, which we hope will never desappear. |
