On one side of the Trasimeno lake is situated a little fishermen village in which all the men teach to their children the different traditional fishing systems on this lake. However they know that it could become very easy a lost tradition as many others.
The long hours passed on waiting and looking at the sky because a raining day meant no fish for the family are very far back on time but there is still a big respect for this activity on the area of the Trasimeno lake.
We propose you to be a fishermen for a day and learn secrets and traditional fishing systems.

Departure with the fishermen and their private fishing little boats.
Arrival in a good location, you will assist to the throwing of the “giacchio”, a special and traditional fishing net.
Waiting for fish, you will be able to visit a charming island on the lake, the Polvese island.

Today this island is a naturalistic park and is not so easy to reach if not with private boats.
So, in big part, you will be “private” visitors, guided by the fishermen and listening at their interesting stories about the island along the centuries.
Then, back on the boats, to check how much fish has been cought and……part of that is yours!
